Why a soda fountain?
At the old corner fountain, "a coke" just meant a cold glass and a seat at the counter. You did not need to dress up or know anybody. The person next to you might be a stranger when you sat down and a friend by the time your glass was empty.
That is the feeling we are after. Grace, mercy, peace and living water were never for sale, and the invitation has always been open.
“Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.”
